Default 2002 Mustang GT overheating

I just had a 2004 Mustang GT engine installed by a mechanic in my 2002 because my engine went out. My car does have a p1sc procharger 10psi. Mechanic said he drove it about 15 minutes and it was fine. When i drove it home it overheated almost touching the H. Mechanic said that it needed to dyno tuned or tuned by a handheld. But said if it still overheats after tuning then he will fix whatever is wrong. Also when i called my local performance shop they said they couldn't dyno tune my car but thay i would need to buy a diablo or something similar. But when i bought this car it had receipts for a dyno tune and 3 dyno runs. Any advice/suggestions?

Would check the cooling system first, sounds like he reflashed to stock? Or did you add fi at the same time as the engine swap?

Check that the cooling system was properly burped. It is commonly overlooked, but what happens is an air pocket forms at the t'stat housing and as a result the t'stat doesn't open. Idle the engine from cold to operating temp with the reservoir cap off until coolant begins flowing through the upper hose (feel for it being hot).

agree that would be my first stop...
jack the front of the car up, remove the therostat , and fill....
seems to work well for me to remove air.

if the car running super lean, or overheating. I would not run it,check cooling system then move on to looking at fuel trims, air inlet temps if not intercooled....ect.
