Slight knock. Help!!!
I have an 01 Gt,
It's slightly built (Got a 2001 Mustang Gt
Cammed. Lowered. Intake. Throttle body. Flowmasters. 42lb injectors. High pressure fuel pump. Stage 2 racing clutch. 5.0 short throw shifter.
60k on engine 150 on body.)
Within the past week or so. I've noticed a slight knock at idle and when I left of the gas. It seems only when the car isn't under load it's knocking ever so slightly or it sounds kinda like a bad throw out bearing. But right when this knock started it also started ticking during acceleration. Please help with your knowledge. Old car was a 97 cobra that spun a main bearing at idle. I truly do baby this mustang and really don't understand why I am hearing knock from an engine with 60k on it. Anything helps thank you
*also just did oil change and nothing changed, thinking maybe a bad lifter(s)?*

Not an expert, but I associate light knock under "engine float" (no load) with a connecting rod bearing or piston pin.
I'm usually clueless with trying to answer a question about a non stock motor. What do forum members think about the notion of a spark plug that stripped out?

Thanks camster. Had a friend mention today it might be something loose in my exhaust seeming how it looks as if one muffler hangs slightly lower than the other. And he said it sounds like more of something loose tapping metal on metal then an actual knock
