Default 2005 GT vs. 2005 C6

So what do you guys think it would take to smoke a C6 vette, without going the forced induction route? I think it should be our civic duty as mustang enthusiasts to aspire to be the top dog in the struggle for american muscle dominance. ( sorry if that was too much-gettin a little lit!)

A broken C6 or a new crate engine.

A LOT of aftermarket work.

Consider this, the GT500 can't beat a C6 Corvette at a drag strip or a track.

If beating a C6 Corvette is your goal, you're getting into the wrong car.

As far as street racing goes, its not always the car that matters most, if you cant maneuver a car then youre doomed to lose every street race you do.

Well, I love my mustang as Im sure that we all do, and forgive my overactive ego, but it seems that everytime that I hear positive reinforcment( yah its a fact of life that we all at times struggle with) about this current platform it seems that the C6 vette is mentioned in the same breath. And not to mention the fact that the yuppie ****s that cruise around like their **** dont stink, drive the car like its a damn minivan! Ok Im sorry, rant is over.

Unfortunately all the advice above is correct…if the 500HP Mustang GT500 can’t beat the standard C6 Corvette there’s little chance for the Mustang GT. Check out Car and Driver:

http://www.caranddriver.com/comparis...lby-gt500.html

The Corvette beat the GT500 in every category except one…it didn’t have a back seat for the kids.

In the 1/8th it's a driver's race if you have CAI and tuner. My wife outran one 3 times and they had to go over a 1/4 mile for the vette driver to pass her. Granted the vette driver was 18 and he didn't drive very well, but she still won with sandals on. Now, I stated that the vette driver wasn't the best behind the wheel, but he wouldn't continue a race unless he got pulled out to his liking. In another words he would quit unless it was halfway even coming out on launch. I think there is a whole lotta hype on the regular C6, this one had a Corsa exhuast on it. I'm sure there are fast ones, but I wasn't impressed with it at least that one. At the local 1/8mile track my car runs better than most of them and about equal to the one's with some mods. Believe it or not I was there so please don't start the flaming. Why would I lie about it. I know these cars should outrun us, but not bad if they would with the correct driver in an 1/8 mile. Most vette drivers are older men that are not going to drive the crap out of it.

it would take gears, intake, pullies, headers and exhaust, and a solid dyno tune to *beat* one (plus some good driving). you need to add a 75shot of nitrous to *smoke* one (plus some good driving).

How about adding a "JATO" ( for you Blue Angel C-130 fans)
