...LMAO... first thing I saw ..how retarded you ricers are.. "at ONLY 24 psi"
I love how ricers come in here trying to bash Mustangs because they know were better and faster. How sad it is that they had to crank that litle hunk of junk up to 24 lbs in order to get the same hp as that Stang. Then you dont have the common sense to know that 2 cars with the same HP... wow the lighter one is going to win! Not to mention it looked like the Cobra just had a bad launch.. Gotta love these import fags.. go back to your little honda or subaru boards or where ever you come from
I wonder how many bridges or drive through signs that humongous wing has hit... O and that evo must have won because of the added HP from all those stickers on the side!!
he run what he brung and won as they saying goes. No biggie. The Cobra will be around for awhile. The EVO not so much....plus since when are they collectible A pyhrric victory at best I think.
I wouldnt rag on EVOs. The EVOs are more for track racing rather than drag racing. That huge wing in the back is for actual downforce. So please dont go ragging on EVOs if you dont know what they are capable of. My buddy owns an EVO 9 and boy are they fast. My mustang barely beats him. OF course both of our cars are not stock. But yea those EVOs have my respect because they are damn nice cars.
No car (minus F1 race cars and the like) will EVER have the need for a wing that big. Even with 500 hp that car cant go fast enough to need that wing, thats like saying it needs a front splitter and rear diffuser. BS! Wings on regular cars are USELESS and mearly for looks. Nowhere in my post did I say it wasnt a fast car, I just said it was a piece of crap.
That's true about the wing, i'm not a fan of the wing on my GT. On a side not, 20 inch rims are about as usefull, but that doesn't stop plenty of people here from buying them.

b|1kage, Obviously you dont drive fast enough to notice downforce. My '85 spoiler is actually functional, it actually produces downforce, granted you have to be traveling 130+ to notice it but it does work. I put on a 87-93 GT wing and I swear to god those things actually produce lift at the same speeds. And most wings on cars arent there to produce downforce, theyre there to reduce lift. And aerodynamics come into play long before that. Have you ever driven a big SUV on a very windy day? Has it ever shoved you over a lane on the highway? Next time theres a lot of wind where you live, go drive a big truck and then go drive your stang. Then we'll see what you think. But then again you dont need your aerodynamics, do you?
-P.
that evo is fast as hell, but.... i can only see driving that car if i was a track junkie only.
personally i care equally about looks and performance and can honestly say that even if the evo was three times as fast as a cobra i still wouldn't ever, even for a second, consider buying it. i think the exhilaration i get everytime i sit in my stang more than makes up for the speed of that evo, and in the evo i'd have to hide my face so people don't see me driving it. sorry but it looks like every other neon/civic/focus/(insert any other compact auto here) to me.
