Ok, so I've been having this problem with my car going into failsafe mode. Whenever I get on it in warm weather all of a sudden I get this jolt in my car and it shoots into failsafe mode. I read the manual but It says something about overheating and that's not the issue here. The funny thing is it doesn't do it in colder weather. I put my C&L on once before a car show just for looks because I didn't have a tune. I drove it home like that and I think f'd up the calibration in my MAF. Any info will help. Car is not under warranty anymore.

I think you may be reading a little too much in to it. The C&L isn't going to make it go in to failsafe mode. What that would do is cause a check engine light ( CEL ) to come on. Is the C&L still on the car or did you put the stock air box back on? If you took it back off, then a few drive cycles would have most likely cleared any CEL associated with the C&L being on there. Sorry to say, but what you are going to have to do is find a friend that has a hand held tuner for the S197s and just carry it around with you until the car craps out. Once that happens, read the code with the hand held from the PCM. That code is going to be the key to figuring out what the problem is. Because quite honesty, it could be anything.
I notice in your signature the Zex equipment. You aren't spraying that thing without having a giggle gas tune for it are you?
unplug the battery and let it sit. make sure you take the C&L off and go back to stock air intake. plug the battery back up and turn your car on. let it sit for a minute or so to let the computer recalibrate everything and hopefully it should be good to go.

Have been for about 8 months getting at tune in one month. Had it dynoed and A/F seemed ok on the rich side. I have been running a bigger fuel jet anyway to be safe. Zex told me that it was completely safe to run it without a tune. But I understand a tune is a priority right now. No I do not have the C&L on, I took it off the same day I had it on. It will go back on when tuned. I am spraying 125 shot this weekend that should get me to around a 7.80. I ran a 8.20 with a 75 shot. But was running a bigger fuel jet to be on the safe side. So about a 60 shot.
The cold air CAN make it enter failsafe mode. P061B and p2106 may set. (this is a torque miscalculation. In order for the computer to calculate torque, it must calculate load. Load = MAF/RPM.) Anything that may affect MAF calculation (cold airs are notorious for this and it is the very reason they require a "tune"). I am not saying it definately is, but I am saying its a likely possibility. Return it to stock, unplug the battery overnight and drive it for a while. If the condition goes away, you know what it is.
Yes there are TP sensor issues with the early build 05's but there are MANY factors that could put this thing in failsafe. If you can PM me the codes I will gladly tell you exactly what they mean and what you can do about them. I will share this info with all of you in the thread, that way I don't have to repeat myself
