Default RE: DEAD BATTERY PROBLEMS.........

Typical dead battery scenerio:

1) Car not started for 10 days.
2) Window doesn't crack when door is opened.
3) Battery stone dead.
4) Charge battery.
5) Turn key on, CD changer goes crazy for several minutes. You frantically are pushing any and every button to get it to stop.
6) Battery stays fresh for several days.
7) Talk to the Ford Dealer Service Advisor. He/She looks at you like you beamed in from Mars. Never heard of the problem. Talk to a Salesman. He tells you that they jump start them in the lot all the time.
8) You go to Walmart and buy a Battery Charger/Maintainer and hook it up any time you leave the car for over a week.
9) You stop back at the dealer and tell the service advisor about that puff of blue smoke you occasionally get after a cold start. Service Advisor remembers you as the "dead battery" lunatic and calls all the techs over to make sport of you. Parts Manager calls 911.
10) You leave the dealer in disgrace before the police arrive and troubleshoot everything yourself thereafter.

Default RE: DEAD BATTERY PROBLEMS.........

Here is a small update to my previuos post: talked to the service advisor today and was told that i tlooks like the active alarm is causing the problem. The alarm was by-passed and there was no current draw found, but with the alarm activated it seemed to be drawing more than normal current. The alarm techs will be in first thing in morning to trouble shoot the alarm problem. Hopefully they will find it. Will post again tomorrow with results.

Default RE: DEAD BATTERY PROBLEMS.........

Battery Problem Fixed! It turns out that the Mobile Guardian System was drawing more milliamps than necessary during a 12 hr cycle causing the battery to slowly discharge. They had to replace the analog sensor with a digital one so that the current would draw at an acceptable level. A bonus to this is now I get a bunch of upgraded features that i didn't have to pay for like cell phone mesages when car is tampered with etc.

My Smith & Wesson model 29.44 magnum alarm doesn't seem to draw any current either.

It is an option from the dealer that I got when I purchased the car.It allows the car to be tracked . All you do is log onto a comp and you can find out where your car is , kinda like a GPS Tracker. As for Torch Red, I was trying to add some helpful input about my situation as maybe some others are having the same problem. Atleast I added something to the discussion other than "Wow, my buddy has a vert, Ill have him check it out". Do us all a favor and use the extra bullet on yourself.

Agreed-not worth an argument, but if your car ever gets stolen who would be the idiot..the one that can find his car or the one that can't. Anyways, lets just take a quick look back through the post and see who started this little matter. Nuff Said.

LTR,
If you do not have any valid input please do not post. This is totally uncalled for.
