Default Electonic throttle control

My husband just purchased me a 2008GT Mustang, I have only driven it maybe 10 miles and the little wrench - indicator light came, I looked it up in the manual and it said the engine was in limp home mode..... needless to say I am a little upset, this is my first mustang and my first convertible.
Of course the dealership has closed and will be closed until Friday . Should you not drive? Its Thanksgiving and I really wanted to drive it ????
Has others had this problem , I have only found parts on the internet no real info... This is my first post , so I hope I am in the correct area.
Happy Thanksgiving...

Congrats on getting the Stang.....Sorry your having trouble with it....You really shouldntdrive it....The modes main function is to prevent you from REALLY driving it and allows you to onlydrive itto a shop...It could mean anything...Maybe transmission(fords are known for their tranny problems)....but good luck on friday and keep us posted on what happens

I have had this problem before, for me it stopped after i turned the car off and on about 3 times, even while the car was still moving. When i hooked up my tuner it said it was the throttle body. I went about 3 months without fixinig it. It wasnt bad to drive on it because it would fix itself and then mess up again in the future. I took out my tune and intake took it to ford and they replaced the throttle body and it was perfect again. But i though these problems only existed on the 05-06 and that they fixed it for 07+ maybe im wrong though.Anyways, didnt take them any time at all to fix and get me the car back. Good Luck!

HI All,
Not sure what just happened, so if this is a double post I m sorry. Got the car back this evening, Service tech said it was a wire that was not crimped poperly at the manfacture. So a new wire was run, and not sensor light (or they took out the bulb Ha Ha!!!)
Thank you all so much for sending me your responses , I was able to ease my mind - I was not alone.
But I drove some this afternoon. The car is beautiful and sounds sooooo good.
Thanks again..
