umm.. apparently I was wrong about 4.10s not having enough traction with f/i.. a few people with them have already chimed in on that other thread saying its better(faster) with no big difference in traction issues vs 3.55s.. so.. 4.10s might be the way to go no matter your future plans..
Only if you a drag strip junkie! 1st gear will almost be useless with FI and 4.10s for daily driving IMO.

Haha... that's pretty ironic. I just ordered my JLT2 and X-cal 2 from Brenspeed today! In regards to exhaust, I've already bought a full assembly SLP xpipe and loudmouths. I hear the sound of the o/r h is better, but the X pipe gives more horsepower (I'm not sure if that's true or not, as I am no expert.)
I would like to add to vaporstang's question. Raven27 said that you do not require a tune for midpipes or the axelbacks, but would a tune be required for longtube headers? I've been thinking about upgrading to the SLP longtubes in the future, but Brenspeed doesn't carry them. That would mean more $$ for reworking the tunes when/if that time comes. Thanks!
1. I have bought from Brenspeed. Excellent service.
2. Call or send an email, they will answer your questions but the stuff that fits the 05-07 will fit yours too.
3. I have a C&L racer and a JLT. If you go C&L, don't get the racer, get the street. It is far more sturdy.
4. Axle backs add zero HP but add the tone you want.
5. X pipe will get you a few more ponies but it sounds farty to my ears. Sort of like a V8 ricer (sorry xpipers, that's what they sound like to me).
6. there are lots of sound clips on youtube and there is a link around somwhere to dozens of sound clips.
7. Personally, unless you are going long tube or want to pay for every last bit of HP, I have not seen sufficient gains to warrant swapping out the X or H pipe unless you get the off road versions.
Enjoy.... The tune is what makes the CAI. JLT and C&L are probably the most common.
Second, is theresignificant performance gains from different mufflers/axlebacks andX/H Pipes? (I not interested in trying to change the sound of my car - just perfromance.)If so, does this have to be accounted for with the tunes? Should I research these now, or will Brendspeed give me the additional tunes if I buy the Axlebacks etc. from them at a later time?
Thanks for you help!
I do believe that Brenspeed will give you and updated tune for free if you buy the mufflers from them.
They won't give you an updated free tune for just adding axlebacks.

I did talk to Brendspeed earlier today and they did confirm #2 above. They also said the aluminum CAI would be more durable - confirming #3 above.
Thanks everyone for your help, I'm learning a lot! I'm going to try and order tonight - if I sort through the additional options I now have in time. I want to compare the BBK and the C&L aluminumn CAIs.
Ihad the Hurst short throw shifter installed today, the CAI/Tune will be ordered today or tomorrow, I'm researching a sound system upgrade for my next improvement - Then I'll have to digest everything and decide on whether or not to install the 4.10. I probably won't do anything with the exhaust.
UPDATE! The C&L Street CAI w/ Tuner is on Order...
