Something is wrong.. I'd guess they accounted for the nearly 5000 DA that you had there when they ran it by the dyno settings.. It also shows you are running 7 psi on that one graph, if i'm reading it right.. the 500hp KB describes is to the Wheels? i didn't think anyone ever made that to the wheels with only 8psi on a s/c.. your afr is jumping right around 11.4-11.6..

So.. you could try a different dyno or have someone who really knows the KB and the 05+ mustang inside and out and you'll probably track down what went wrong.. could just be the dyno is off.. I'd get a 2nd dyno test or do some data logging with a hand held tuner connected to a laptop to see whats going on..

Multiplying by 1.29 is rediculous even if it was 100 degrees out... 29% drivetrain loss?? no way.

multiply by 1.15 for a manual and 1.18 for an auto.

365 X 1.15 = 420 hp
365 X 1.18 = 430 hp

Either way your HP is way off. Take it to another shop and get another opinion.

I'm pretty sure that KB stang in the video was a built motor running 15psi. So you won't be anywhere near that fast with stock internals.

You might want to ensure your bypass valve is moving from wide open to full shut quickly even though your car shows you making 7 psi. The bypass actuator on mine was hitting the hose clamp . I readjusted the clamp and there was a completely new car underneath me.

Kind of curious whose tune your using since your dyno graph showed 6500 rpms. My KB street tune shifts at 6000.

wait a minute, just checking everyones math
500 crank hp w/ a 15% drive train loss is 500 x .85 = 425 rwhp
so to get rwhp to crank you would go 425 / .85 = 500 crank hp
if you go 425 x 1.15 you get 488 which aint right
you must divide by .85 to get the crank hp
correct me if i'm wrong

So now you can see why I am so confused... Your math is correct here, but which one is the accurate answer to drive train loss? I think the dyno guys were possibly just trying to blow smoke up my a$$.

Dude I hear you, I got dyno'd last year at a few places. AZ Dyno Chip and Xtreme Motorsports in Tempe, both were during the summer, which of course is brutal out here in AZ !!!
Make sure they turn the AC off !! [:@]

The guy at AZ Dyno Chip actually let me "run" the car on the dyno while he did the computer stuff, recommend that place, they areon PHX/Tempe border, 60 for half hour, as many runs as you like.

So my average baseline numbers were as such from both places: remember I am N/A and AUTO

250/265 RWHP/RWTQ (stock)
261/272 RWHP/RWTQ (+ intake/ brenspeed tune)
270/279 RWHP/RWTQ (+ LT headers/ X-pipe)

At first I thought that was low but then I remembered -20% for AUTO [:@]


Just like 1/4 mile times, you can't compare out here to the numbers the guys get back east, they got better temps, humidity, and elevation, my best ET out here is 13.3 with all my mods, that is a full second faster than stock but its as far as I can go with the car at this point. We are hard pressed to get the RWHP/RWTQ numbers the east coast guys get, so I have given up, happy with my HP/TQ and ET, and so far no S197 out here has beat me in 1/4 mile N/A, so I happy with that, in fact I usually beat stock 6.0 GTOs,

Take it to the track, you won't care about HP/TQ numbers, just a time slip You got a killer SC, so don't get caught up in Dyno sheets and start pushing the limits of the drivetrain to achieve certain numbers, with practice you should easily be in the mid to low 12s with your car, that pretty nice.

All that being said I can burn through 1st, 2nd, and chirp third with just my set-up so something is porbably not right, I am guessing your tune ?

or multiply rwhp by 1.176 gets u to the same #

1.29 seems a bit much

your numbers do seem off... was it custom tuned or just had a pull done....

It's running the canned Kenne Bell tune...
I just don't really trust anyone out here to modify it. The fact that my speedo is off by 5mph at 60 has always bugged me since the 3.73's but not enough to spend the $200 to get it fixed with a new tune from KB. I am going to go try these guys out at PSR like "SRT lol" suggested. They do seem to be "in the know" about the s197's. I will install the 10lb pulley and head over there sometime this week. Thanks for all the help guys!
