Great instructions! I'm going to give this a shot in a few months. The only thing I can't figure out is what if you swapped crank pullies? I don't remember timing mark on the pulley.
Note: You need to position the crank pulley before removing the cam
followers. This orientates the cams, so that the 3 cam followers
on each side, have the least amount of spring pressure on them.
I marked the crank pulley, so I can easily see the damper spoke
and the timing mark locations. The line in the 1 o'clock position
is the timing mark.
thanks mygt500, i never expected it to
become a sticky, this is a great honor.
leaf, the timing mark isn't that important....when
you take off your RH side cam cover, you can
position the cam lobes as shown in the guide,
thus determining the initial 12 o'clock position (this
would be where the stock damper spoke would be).
the more you look at the lobes and the cam followers,
the more you will see what is happening and
why the crank and cam is set where it is
Hammeron you are the man! You not only got these put in first on a whipple mustang but you also did a great write up as well. Good job man! God please could you get this man a video camera so he could bless us with the sound of this new mod
Nice work on the cam install and great write up. That doesn't look that hard. I like how you can remove the cams without removing the sprockets or timing chains.
