Boomtubes sound nice, especially if you are going to put that cam in.

boomtubes wonder if they are related to cherry bombs, boom and bomb, I dunnno.......anyways those boomtubes look an aweful lot like an old school glass pack, they rap like a glass pack when you let off the gas, at least in the sound clips they sound like a glass pack, which to me isn't the sound you want.

Except glass packs are indeed packed with fiberglass, which boom tubes I do not belive are....Maybe they are though, but in any event so are most any other straight through muffler on the market...I have a 600 dollar Magnaflow cat back on my truck which is a single in dual out straight through muffler that is packed with fiberglass like packing, I guess I got screwed and should have just slapped some glass packs on it...I hate when that happens....But seriously, the sound clips on youtube you can take with a grain of salt, some of them are realistic but most are of crappy quality. I have loudmouths on my mustang and can tell you there is not a single video on youtube that accurately represent how they sound in real life, a few are decent but still no where near how they actually sound...

SLPs or Boomtubes with stock headers and stock H pipe sound good. SLP or Boomtubes with O/R X sounds loud, obnoxious and like crap.

I thought the same thing. I put on a Magnaflow off road x-pipe on and it was to loud for me. If you want to buy it I'll sell it to you for 1/2 the price I paid. $150 It was only on the car two days.

E-mail me at akraft6@yahoo.com if interested.

How do you like the Pypes Mid-Muffler catback? Right now I'm leaning towards just installing the SLP Loudmouth catback and being down with it, I'm sure it will give me the muscle car sound that I'm looking for plus sound awesome with the frpp hot rod cams. I'm going to keep listening to sound clips before I truly make up my mind!

From what I have read, SLP and everything else stock sounds close to an old school muscle car. I have not heard SLPs in person, so I can't say for sure.

Well, from the youtube vids I like the way the SLP Loudmouths sounds just not sure about how it would be from within the car. Also liking the way the o/r xpipe with pypes mid-muffler catback sounds but add the cost of that together plus install I could save a could hundred by just swapping to the SLP axleback! What I'm scared of is getting a nasty sounding exhaust and wasting my money again. Magnaflows have a nice sound just not vocal enough at idle. Someone in our local mustang club has a '01 bullitt and it has 10 series flowmasters (single chambered) and it sounds absolutely aweful! Definitely don't want a system that will sound like that! Stealth should be able to chime in on that...lol

The Loudmouths are loud and deep...They sound phenominal from outside the car especially under load. Inside the car there is not much drone at all and with the windows up it is actually pretty tame sounding, I mean at WOT you definately hear it regardless, but normal driving with the windows up it isnt too loud in the cab at all (louder than stock, but not like you cant hold a normal conversation by any means). With the windows down driving you can definately hear it but I think it sounds awesome... I have only had mine on for about a week and had a rediculous amount of compliments. One buddy of mine has the Magnaflow cat back and I can tell you it sounds good, just very tame compared to the loudmouths...
