Default Oil change

Hello everyone, Im gonna do a oil change next week hopefully but I was wondering if I could use Castrols 5-40 oil instead of 5-30, my dad have a barrel at the workshop and he tells me that it will be no problem using it.

So is it okey?

Thank you

You might notice a slight decrease in fuel economy, but other than that, you will be fine.

Are you doing this on a GT which is spec'd for 5W20 or a V6 which is spec'd at 5W30? Going up from 20 to 30 or 30 to 40 probably wouldn't hurt but I wouldn't go from 5W20 to 5W40.

This is a GT, Why wouldnt you go to 40 with the GT?

Oh btw, what should I use to clean the MAF sensor and the TB?

Planning on doing that at the same time, my idle was a little jumpy yesterday 500-1000 so I was thinking its maybe time to clean them both.
