Default Vortech V3 non-intercooled times...

What are all you V3 non-intercooled kitted cars running?

Just curious.. seems like everyone was getting them left and right at the start of summer, interested to hear about times people are running at the track with them.

Also, how long do you guys wait between runs?

Default Working on better times

I have been to the track once since I put the supercharger on. I am running 4.10 gears, FRPP suspension, and 275/35/20 street tires @ 35 psi. My best time was 13.0 @ 109.9 and I am still trying to get the launch down. With the street tires, it is tricky getting the car to launch right. I was hoping to hit 12.8 my first time out but with the tires, inconsistent launch and warm temperatures, 13.0 was my best. I hot lapped the car for my first seven runs (less than 10 minutes cool down) and did see a fall off in performance. Letting it sit for 20 minutes with the hood up after seven hot laps really made a world of difference (this was when I got my 13.0 run).

I think that with a set of ET streets and LCA relocation brackets, I can get into the low 12s. The traction at the start will make launching more consistent and lower my 60’ times. A shift light will also help with consistency down the track (I will be putting a raptor light in soon).

Your 60 isn't that bad. Hows your traction going into 2nd and 3rd? What RPM are you shifting at?

Just for a reference point Mishri's auto has pulled a 13.5 with the 4.10, cmdp, udp, lca, and cai plus 93 tune. No blower. And this was with street tires on a day where the density altitude was over 4200'. 2.1 60'.

In my opinion that vortech ought to be able to get you into the low 12s if you're running in good air.

I try to take it to 6300 for the shift. Before the supercharger, I did not have many issues with wheel spin. Now it will spin in 2nd and 3rd if I am not careful. I am trying to work on my launch right now and keep the wheels from spinning. I am launching at about 2500-3000 rpm. The 20” rims are killing me right now. With that said, I am sure I can get the time down by letting the car cool better between runs. My first run, I looked like I was doing a John Force burnout and had a 60’ time of 2.95 seconds. The second run was just as bad. I hot lapped the car the whole time (with the exception of the 20-minute cool down after my seventh run). I was more interested in trying to get the launch figured out and the shifting. You have to keep in mind I went from stock NA (no tune) and 3.31 gears (14.0 in the ¼) to the supercharger, CMDPs and 4.10 gears. Getting the quicker shifts, added HP, and launch figured out will take time.

Could definitely get into the mid 12s I would think... I am running not even full bolt ons. With a SC I would expect at least like a 12.5

I have been trying in vain to get a 13.0 flat this summer with my mods, so far no provail.. it feels like the shorty headers opened up more low end torque but it only accounted for more spin off the line as well as a lower trap speed because I lack more traction then before the shorties.

Going back this Sunday, my best time will most likely be a few 13.2s and mostly 13.4s all day.

)-:

When I get the blower, I'll try them with the 4.10s, if not then I'll go 3.73s lol.

do you feel you get better traction with the larger tires?? I know they are large rims, but I seen a few vids of a 10 sec Whippled auto also with some 20s/4.10s in the rear, launched no problem at all.

The times will get better I bet, once you get some better tires.

How much power are you putting down??

Last year I saw a guy run 12.38 with a non-intercooled Vortech on a 2007 GT. He had an auto, 4.10 gears, 3500 stall, DR's, and was tuned to 351 rwhp on a Mustang dyno.
