Sorry, but 160 is over 10 mph worth of wishful thinking for a stock GT. With either 3.55's or 3.73's, mid to maybe high 140's is about it.

FWIW, the last couple of mph take an eternity to add on, and you won't see that big aerodynamic wall coming until it takes over 5 seconds and more than 1/4 mile of road to add one more measly mph. At that point, you've got MAYBE 2 mph more left. Breathe off the gas even a little and you'll lose 1 or 2 mph before you know. The acceleration you can feel at 130 mph is positively scorching by comparison.

Honestly, I think the top end was okay but not breath taking stock (my 08 GT auto).

I had mine at 140ish. Its stock. It was still pulling pretty hard, but I find the front end starts to get a little too floaty for my comfort zone, lol. Im not sure if one would be able to use the wind as an advantage to get it higher.

I think my dads Ranger is limited to something like 100MPH. It pulls really hard, then just stops... Its lame, lol.

Default Bwahahaha

Is this an effort at extortion? Cause I warn you, I have a tweenager in my house. Extortion attempts, threats, blackmail, sobbing fits, and bribes lost their effect about 6 months ago.

I took the dealer program car (2010) on the Autobahn here in Stuttgart to 145. It was sweet. The wife was with me and started freakin out and I had to get out of it. I was tracking behind an MB E350 and he kept the throttle open. Can't wait till mine gets here.

I prefer the pinned to the seat thing myself - and in a related topic - my husband did one of the sexiest things ever tonight - NO it had nothing to do with being pinned to my seat. Ahem. My daughter and I were in my GT, following him home from the town I work in - he was in his Dodge 4x4 four door truck. A Texas tagged Mercedes was determined, for some reason, to try to block me in behind that big 4x4 truck in front of me. It ran side by side with me for I don't know how many miles. Finally, I had enough of it, called my husband. Said: I don't know what is up with the Mercedes, but I'm about to take 'em down in the dirt. He said: You're in a Mustang GT. If you can't walk away from them in THAT, I don't know what to tell you. I said: See ya at the house, baby. *click*

I dropped the hammer on it, he gave me just enough room to get between him and the Mercedes, and I wiped it off the face of the map. When the driver tried to follow, my husband, who by the way is CLEET certified (cop) cut him off and wouldn't let him by.

Mwahahahaha. When we got to the redlight in our home town, the Mercedes finally caught up - I waited on them, and our daughter(She's 12) rolllllled down the window as the Mercedes rolled up the the red light - and she waved at the driver, said, WE OWN YOU!

Ehehehehe.

My brother took mine out while I was in the desert and said he was pulling 142 in 4th and it was still wanting more. He said it seemed to open up just past the 15k mile mark on the odo. Where he did it is MORE insane, heh. If there were enough room, she'd go to the limiter, I'm sure. I also remember the first ones on the race track were having the hoods fly off at 150+ mph, so it had to be pinned. Just FYI if anyone ever does see that in their car...such as on the Autobahn.
