Default Well...It's more then a Paper Weight...!!!

Well, I imagine that this post is going to cause a little stir with some of the Throttle Body Nay-Sayers ...!!
Short of the story is.... I went to my friends at the Steeda.Ca Shop yesterday and had my Autolite
HT1 plugs put in without issue, and at the same time my new FRPP Polished Billet 62mm Throttle Body was installed along with a 94 Octane Dyno Tune. Holy crap this TB is expensive, but I managed to
pick up additional 21 HP to the Wheels...!!! It was totally unexpected....
The Ford racing TB (FRPP M-9926-3V) seems to work very well with Cams and Long Tubes,
etc. and it looks sick.. If your interested, I'll post again when they (Steeda) update their Web Site showing the Video of the Dyno Tune and Graphs...

With your other mods you probably will see some gains, its the purely stock to very mild setups that the 'paper wieght' term applies

Did you have the 94 octane tune already, just modified for the TB? I'm trying to figure out if the gains really were from the TB.

I'm interested in this TB for the bling, but if it gains like that with LT + cams + CAI then that's great!

Come on...LMAO...

Let's talk reality here...

Do you HONESTLY think the throttle body had anything to do with the gains you saw? You don't think bumping the timing with 94 octane would produce 21 rwhp EASILY???

I can make a difference of 30 rwhp on any 3V with 94 octane over 91 octane by simply getting aggressive in the tune.

When you get into the power levels where the stock TB causes a restriction - far beyond 500 rwhp - then a TB start to makes sense but you don't buy a TB to make power - you buy a TB to HANDLE power when you need it. Just like an intake - everything else is simply hype...

That's why I ask about the tune before the TB install. I be skeptical.

Of course, people say that the stock exhaust is good for XXX rwhp (I know KB says this) yet anyone N/A will gain a good 20 rwhp by adding LT and high-flows/OR. So just because something isn't a huge restriction, doesn't mean you can't still gain by changing it out.

We do need more details though. I'm not going to write it off just yet.

Hey there SirKnight...
Yep, I had a full 94 Octane Dyno tune done at the Steeda Shop here just a short time ago when my HotRod Cams went in. The other day I just had the Autolite HT1 Plugs and FRPP Throttle Body changed and decided to have another pull or two on the Dyno just to see what the diffence was, and wella. Hmmmm, at this point I really don't give a Rat's Ass what a certain individual thinks here, nor am i going to debate it. I am just happy with the way it looks and the overall outcome. Oh well, some people can be so encouraging, can't they !!! .

Ok I just wanted to be sure you had a 94 tune before and after.

As long as you see improvements that's all good. Plus it looks better than the stock too.
