Default Trouble code or DTC p0340

My wife got this last night when she drove the car home. Anybody ever have this? I read up on it and it said something about the cam timing. Help please. I have reset it the light.

found out this may be a bad coil pack or an illing alternator. Saturday she goes to the shop. Ford said since I don't have a blinking engine light that it doesn't have to be done right away. Either way I guess this is normal since the car turned 5 years old yesterday.

could be cam shaft position sensor. you have 2 on the GT. i had this code and it ended up being too much fuel being added due to a bad tune.

its a bad alternator. It's very common in the 05's, 06's and some of 07's. I've been through it and many others on this board have also been through it.

They might bring it up, but it should be out of warranty anyways. there's a TSB on it so ford is aware of the faulty alternator. its just a quick replacement

o.k. I went to the shop today to find out that it is a ecm with memory problems. A course I had to pay the 100 dollars to find this out with the extended warranty however my Service Clerk said assure me that nothing is wrong with the car. He said because of the chip I have in the car that it's causing an interference with the memory that is supposed to be in the car being that I have alternated the parameters. I have had the chip in for at least 4 years and honestly I think he could be on to something here. Since the car is running strong as ever and it isn't reading the speedometer or rpms wrong and there isn't no battery light on I'm just not going to worry about it. He echo the same idea. I have reset the light before and it came back interesting though I drove her home over 15 miles away and no check engine light yet. She did put smile on my face because I haven't been driving her much as of late. Hope this might be of an assistance to someone with the same problem.
