Default Ram air vs. cai hp comparission?

Anyone know what the hp gain is from a cdc shaker system? For the price I would think it should be more than an advanced cai setup.

You would think but it's not. All it does is bring cooler air to the filter it's not exactly one of the best "ram air" set ups, may give you a few HP but nothing major it's more of a look then substantial gains over conventional cai.

Bringing cooler air to the filter is a good thing, especially in the summer, but it'll be maybe a few HP if anything.

A CAI + tune will give you ~25HP. But, it would be good to have both so that way your CAI would get a little bit cooler air. Plus the shaker just looks damn cool.

Scoop sits to low against the hood to do to much. I forget the show, but they did a windtunnel test and on most cars the scoop had to sit around 5 inches or higher to get a true ram air affect.

The limiting factor is HOW much air our engines can ingest. The typical CAI allows as much air as the S197's 4.6L and 4.0L can handle. Trying to force more into the intake does nothing.

save the money...nice concept and it works but most Ram Air systems don't do jack for you until over 40+ MPH anyway......save the money for new gears (4.10's) and the butt dyno will notice that off the line!
