Just put 3.73s on mine, up from 3.31s. Haven't driven them enough to break them in yet. But I do have a first impression. With my stock tire size, they seem to have put the car in a better spot rpm wise. My gear installer and I had a long discussion about 3.73s vs 4.10s. He was of the opinion that the Tremec 3650 was not geared correctly for 4.10s unless you put on taller drag slicks in which case your moving back towards what 3.73s are with stock tires. He said putting on 4.10s slows the cars down with traction problems and running out of gear to soon. My opinion is still forming. I will know more after my break in period when I get to see what they can do more. But I feel I made the right choice given my needs.

Redfire,

I'm in the same boat as you, but I did do 3.73's already from stock 3.31's on my '06 GT auto. Its not really a huge difference from the 3.31's , noticeable, but definitely not a "night and day" difference.

I've had the gears done THREE times already, and they whine like hell (FRPP ones). First time by one installer, twice by the second installer, all claim there's nothing wrong! Anyway, I'm getting them done the right way in two weeks, so I figure while I'm there I might as well go 4.10's but I'm not 100% sure, I've been re thinking. With the 3.73's, I did do a 1/4 mi best of 13.1 at 105 mph, and a 1.9 60' time on the stock 17" Pirellis. Unfortunately, I didn't know what my rpm's where when I crossed the line. With 4.10's I know I'll need DR's, maybe I can get 12.9

I want to go FI someday, not in the forseeable future though, so thats why I am leaning towards the 4.10's Worst case scenario, I'll switch back to 3.73's if/when that day for going FI comes. I just don't want to kill my highway cruising though.

Good luck in whatever you choose, and take it from me, choose a reputable installer ( I learned the hard way!)
