Default I have 4 questions about build plan

Was thinking about the following for mods to my stock 5 speed GT:
FRPP cams $780
Delete Plates $300
C&L Racer CAI w/tuner $600
MAC full exhaust pkg from Brenspeed 1 3/4 headers, x-pipe, violator axlebacks
$965
4.10 gears $190

1. I estimated this combo would cost approx $4300 with a shop doing install on all the mods. Is this in the ballpark do you think?

2. I was estimating rwhp rwtq around 325/320. Pretty close?

3. I would like to get some livernois heads later, would the 1 3/4 headers have any negative effects before I do get better heads?

4. Was also considering the same combo, but with SPR stage II Comps instead of the FRPP's. I figured about $1300 more parts and labor for this combo for around 340 at the wheels? Seem close?

Goals: I have no E.T goals because I never drag race but I would like to be able to beat a newer GTO. No other real goals than just beefing up the car a little bit. Before someone says something about F.I., I would only go intercooled if I did and it would be a stretch for me to drop the $6000 plus necessary with shop install cost so that is probably not something I will look at and definately never if I do indeed start an NA build. I will not change my mind later and go F.I. Thanks for your input.

I would budget a bit more and get American Racing long tube headers with catted H-pipe, if you don't drag race then go 3.73 gears. Other then that sounds like a solid combo that will not only beat but blow the doors off a stock GT0, 2010 Camaro SS, and any Mopar SRT-8.

Spend a bit more and get like a Vortech supercharger, alot more fun right away, you can always do exhaust stuff later, just get the blower and gears only, it will be like night and day....you won't need CAI (blower comes with one), delete plates, cams - alot of money and hassle for not much gain....proportionally

probably total around $5000

If you want a power cam vs. a sound cam, you could go with the Comp XFI NSR stage II cam (127200). A few dollars cheaper than the FRPP cam and doesn't require springs, but offers more HP.

Although I am going with shorty headers and will have 3.55 gears, I should be able to give you an idea of what kind of HP you will get when add heads to your package by T-day.

Cool, are you adding heads? I thought you had a turbo...maybe not? I have thought about the comp nsr's, I just really like how the frpp's sound and sure hope I'm one of the one's that picks up 20 hp and not zero. The longtubes have me concerned more than anything. I don't feel a good N/A build is possible without them but am concerned that even MO. may eventually go to emmissions testing and then I just wasted a bunch of money....

If you are not a track junkie, you can get shorties instead of longtubes... They are cheaper and better in the lower RPMs than longtubes (more torque). They just don't flow as good as longtubes at the top of the RPM band. Plus, with shorties, they retain the factory O2 sensor locations and you get no codes thrown.

I got JBAs because they are equal-length and CARB-approved. Sound great too!

I ran the STS twins on the car for a very short time, but the oil return system is junk and STS tech support is worthless, so off they came. The car is currently with the tuner getting:
MGW short throw shifter
aluminum driveshaft
C&L Racer intake
Steeda CMDP's
Comp XFI NSR stage II cams
custom CNC'd heads (using the stock heads and it's taking forever, glad it's not my only car)
JBA titanium ceramic shorty headers
I already have a Diablosport Predator, FRPP x-pipe and Corsa Sports on the car.

I went with the JBA's because they have a CARB EO and I do have to go through emissions testing where I live. They also seem to get the best reviews among the shorties. I asked my tuner if I was missing much by not going to long tubes with my setup and he says that as long as I planned on a catted setup, there would be little difference between LT's and shorties.....catless is a different story. Like jdmcbride stated, the shorties provide more torque in the low to mid RPM range. I knew that I would be giving up some down low with the cams and heads, so I wanted to compensate as much as possible without gears. Besides, my car rarely sees 6000+ rpm.

I was going to give the C&L inake manifold a shot and had one on order, but got tired of waiting for it. If I had known the heads were going to take so long, I wouldn't have cancelled my order.

I would have picked a more aggressive cam to go with the heads, but I didn't want to sacrifice too much down low, and the heads were kind of a last minute decision when I dropped off the car.

Planning ahead: I don't know if I will take another stab at forced induction or not, but my tuner assures me that everything I'm doing now will only compliment it if I choose to go down that road again. Depending on the day, I go back and forth between F/I and building a N/A monster.....After my experience with STS, staying N/A has a certain appeal to me.
