I need your input i wanna get some headers on my 2005 gt mustang.
-I have to smog my car so i wanna keep the stock cats.
-i live in california with the strict car laws
-i dont want to require a tune for it. because i want to pass smog.
-i already have a custom tune and an air intake those are the only 2 things i want to worry about taking off for smog because they are simple bolt ons and i can do in 10 min.
-i dont want my check engine light on all the time.(wont pass smog with that)
So what do you reccomend???
you can see my other mods in my signature.
im hoping it will make my loudmouths a little bit louder
-ANTON

JBA shorty headers... they are CARB approved and keep the stock locations for the O2 sensors. They do make the exhaust sound better and I can feel a difference in the "butt" dyno!

I would spend my cash on something else...............the stock exhaust manifold is supposed to have good exhaust flow up to about 500 HP.
yep, what he said, I almost did shorty headers myself but I researched it a lot and long tubes are the only way to go, plus that install is a PITA to do just for shorties to get some sound, and that's about all shorty headers will get you, install involves removing the starter, the steering linkage, and both motor mounts....
