Default Popping sound when I open it up...

Hey guys,
I have Magnaflow A/B and a V3 S/C....I opened it up today and in first gear heard a popping noise from my exhaust, almost like a backfire. Is this normal with my setup?

Thanks

I hope you're not missing. It's probably just a lack of backpressure causing the sound on decel, but I'd get it on a dyno to be sure. Do you still have cats? It shouldn't "pop" from a lack of backpressure if you have cats.

Nine,
Yeah, it was on deceleration, and yes, I still have the cats.

Was the car cold? Mine has done it before but only when it wasn't warmed up.

I noticed mine had some decel pop the other night when it wasn't warm and in neutral. Have tried again, but I am fairly sure it was just cause it was cold...

If it was only on decel, then you're fine. The other guys bring up a good point, the cats aren't doing their job until they warm up, so if this happens when the car isn't fully warmed up, then it's definitely just the exhaust.
