I have an 06 gt and I ordered the lowprofile electric cutouts. Should I put them before or after the cats? Before will be a lot louder but will have all the cracking and popping sounds. Which will sound better?

Installing them before the catalyctic convertor's will be highly illegal and can carry a hefty fine of $4,500, 30 days in jail or both. Installing them after the catalyctic convertors will be legal and keep you out of hot water.
Having said this, please don't shoot the messenger. I'm just referring to the law. I'm not a liberal/socialist Obama-bot.
Even if you could, BEFORE the cats would throw a CEL unless you have a tune to turn off the O2 sensors. After the cats and you're not really gaining a whole lot for the effort. The stock catback/axleback flows very well for OE equipment. You'll likely get little RWHP gain, if any, for all the noise. If you want power w/o going FI, then a CAI & tune combo from Brenspeed or Bama is your biggest bang-for-the-buck.
You almost have to throw out the book that we used on our 60's and 70's rods when we consider the S197.
gtstang32;6614178]i guess the better question would be. .should i install the cutouts with leaving the cats on or taking them off?
That would be really in violation of the law and in states with mandated annual safety inspections, the car wouldn't pass inspection. Not much good to have a car you can't drive.
AND, if you can legally dump the cats in your state, you'd be better off installing a set of LT's and an O/R X or H. They'll gain more than simply eliminating the cats.
thanks guys, i appreciate the comments. . i guess it would be best to stay legal and leave the cats on. . haha. . im not really looking to gain hp though, mainly just for the sound.

Just to let you know, O.E. emissions equipment is mandated by federal law, which takes precedence over state law. It is illegal to remove O.E. emissions equipment in any state for this reason. Plus, again, with states that have mandated annual safety inspections, removed emissions equipment means an automatic failure of the inspection and the inspector is supposed to report the removed emissions equipment. Again, federal law.
