I really like National Trails. I have raced there many times. I will say that I was a little slow in my old open comp car compared to some other tracks closer to sea level. Nice track though with great prep everytime I have been. I was off a tenth, maybe it was the time of the year, weather, altitude? Who knows? Good luck and keep us informed.

Well it might be a week or two before i get it up there...Its been pretty hot around here(central Ohio) lately and I just dont like beating the hell out of my car in the Heat & humidity....Let it cool down to low 80s high 70s, but i will definately keep you guys posted.

You guys have given me soo many tips already, I shouldnt have any problems gettin my 60's takin care of

One more thing what RPMs are you guys shiftin @....I have been told different things so if you have any info on that it might be usefull too.

stock, i shifted at like 6100 because the factory rev limiter was around there somewhere, like 6200. . .

now. . . with 93 tune. . . i shift around 6300, but i have been told the engine makes power all the way up to 6600 or 6700, but i don't like pushing it that far. . .

i wouldn't go too much past 6300 if i was you, and thats with the tune of course

2nd night out with the mustang-

finally broke 14- even if barely...13.91 @ 101 with a .0140 reaction!, but had fun, didnt even ice it or drop the air pressure, got (3) point-zero-something lights too- but:
missed second once
left tc on once (fell on its face upon barking second)
and the real flop of the night was noticing tcs on after staging- hit it, looked up and saw a green light-DOH!
a point-895 light, yet still ran a 14.05... stupid question- with that time and that horrible reaction, dont
that mean had I gotten a decent light it woulda been mid 13's??? those numbers just dont add up to me...

still had a ball. Took an old buddy along (in his mid-80's) think he thought we were basically all nuts wasting gas and tearing up our cars, but think he still enjoyed it- did say "you aint ever drivin my @#$%#@ car again!" tried to get him to give it a shot, but he hadnt driven a stick in a few years...two sons came along also- they were jumpin up and down in the stands when they saw 13-something...ran a 14.20 w/4 of us in the car. Man I love this car, just hope I dont bust it

Sorry man reaction time has nothing to do with your ET. You could sit there for a minute after the green comes on and still run the same ET.

X2

Yeah dude. . .

reaction time is the time between when the light turns green till when you start your time, aka, when you leave the staged light. . .

ET is figured by when you "leave the lights" to when you "cross the lights", Reaction time is the time your sitting there between green and leaving the lights. . .

so your time doesnt start until the staged light turns off. . . you could set there for a minute, then leave, and still run same ET. . .

hope you understand, thats kind of difficult to explain

gotcha-
et = beam to beam and reaction just green to breaking staged

Id always heard about a 'good light' and thought it helped the ET- but I see it only really helps in racing- I beat another 05/06 last night twice, although he was 2/10th faster both runs- but I had the better light...sorry for the noob questions, its all kinda new to me- but man is it a lot of fun! thanks for the replies

This is my First Time at the Track with my Car, Could some one Critique my slips, What could I do to better to get into the high 12's

The track was slick this morning, so I launched at about 1200-1400 RPM any more and I would spin at the way through the 60'
other then that it was a blast, Got some great video too. Temp was about 80 low humid.

Thanks for any help
