A long time dream finally realized. Galpin had 40 brand new 2008 GTs at $19k. No haggling; went in and said I want that one (there were tons along Roscoe Blvd with the price right on the window). Too good of a deal to pass up. Picked one up in Vista Blue. One word: Awesome. Now where to start . . .
Congrats, Nice ride, got to love that Vista Blue!!

Vista Blue is awesome, I agree. When I went to Galpin for the $19k special, all 40 were in white or blue. I was going to leave because white is too plain and blue didn't impress me on the Ford website. Pictures and color pallets are so different from the LCD screen and real life and the blue grew on me the more I looked at it. Now I'm just saving up for painted stripes. Every time I drive the car there's a smile on my face, so much fun and just can't wait to drive it again when I get out.
not sure why this post says 2005-2007 but im sure you wont mind me posting my 2009 here.anyways, picked it up in september and already have 6,000 miles on it.haha,so far,im loving it
I just traded in my 350Z on a Vista Blue 08 GT. Love the power difference, love the backseat (so do the kids ), hate how easy it is to lower the fuel mileage though
i think it says 05-07 because the thread was created in 06....lol
but here's mine. i took delivery two days ago, the only dry day of the week as it turns out. first time i saw it, it was stripe-less. i go back the next day to begin the negotiation, and i don't see the car, so i say, where's it at? and they said "we striped them all today." i'm kinda glad they did, but it was a bit of a shock.

Got my 08' Vert GT about 4 weeks ago. I just saw this post and thought I would share. This one was a program car that a dealer had, it had 9,900 miles and was in mint condition. I got it for $26.9k; it originally went for $37.6k. I've already installed a Steeda CAI with a 93 octane tune on it from Brenspeed. Gears will be my next mod without a doubt. Now if we can just get some decent weather up here in the Chicago area so I can drop the top. I absolutely love this car!

I posted this in the new member section but probably more fitting here. I hope this helps anyone planning on getting into an S197.
My car - 2007 Mustang GT, 5 spd, black. The only options are as follows...
Leather
Shaker 500
6 CD
Premium Wheels
Not a lot of options but the car lists between $22k-$23k on kbb.
I found a dealership willing to let mine go for $19.5 + tax/lic. The car only had 10k miles on it.
You can get a 2005 or 2006 GT with around 36k to 40k miles for considerably ($3-$5k) less...same with the V6 models. One of the things that attracted me to the GT's is the availability of aftermarket parts. Just remember to negotiate. There are deals to be found and dealers are willing to negotiate. Internet search of dealers in your area are the way to go.
I got my 09 a few weeks ago, great car. Still stock with manual transmission, got about 600 miles on it right now. Going to do some minor mods to it soon. My dad wanted to make sure I didn't want a Challenger, 350Z, or anything else (I guess the only other car that came to mind was infiniti G35/G37). I like the American muscle, and it is very fast. This V8 is one smooth running engine and I like the sound of the stock exhaust so I'm not planning on changing it out. Ford did real good with the sound tuning on this car.
I notice one of you guys even traded in a 350Z for one, that is a shocker. I guess 350Z isn't all it is cracked up to be.
Oh yeah the only reason I didn't get a 2008 was because they didn't have a 2008 performance white with black interior, I would have had to get parchment. It would have had all the same options as this 09 as far as I remember. No GT appearance package for me too, because I did'nt like the idea of having holes drilled in the hood. I can always add a hood scoop later. I'm just going to put the plenum cover on and man the exhaust looks nice without exhaust tips (for now, I know they are going to get dirty and may change my mind to putting some on) but right now they look real cool bare stock right now.
Paid in full with cash, so I didn't have to worry about APR
