Just got mine last week. It's a stealthy brand new leftover 2008 GT Deluxe 5-speed with spoiler delete in white. It was originally delivered to Saleen, probably intended to become one before their financial difficulties. A steal at $19k. I love it so far.
I've noticed that several members have mentioned earlier in the year that Galpin Ford was selling "new?" 2008 (or was it 09s) GTs for 19K or so? Did I misread? Because on their website the least expensive I see is $26K for a white 08 ... if it's even still there.
I might well begin negotiations on either an 08 (if I can still find one), an 09 (if I can find one config the way I like) or a 10 and would very much like to know what a good price on a relatively plain jane GT might be. I like sleeper looks, so if I had my way it'd be a black or green spoiler delete w/o the shaker sound package ... oh, and I'd prefer an automatic.
Any help or info would be helpful. BTW, I'm a Mopar guy, but after driving the Challenger R/T 6spd, I prefer the Mustang (and yes I did drive the GT as an automatic and liked it). Heck I prefer my 05 Magnum R/T to the Challenger, although it probably is not as nice looking. But the Mustang is both a good looker and nice driver and have better resale value and aftermarket parts vendering. The Chevy Camaro ... no thanks ... there's more to a nice car than shear speed IMO.
She's not brand new, but new to me. I bought her July 3rd, '09 with 28K miles.
Alloy Mustang GT Premium. I already replaced the rear emblem because the
black paint was flaking off the original. So far I have put a couple hundred miles
on her and I continue to be amazed at how well this car has held up. Still feels
like new. Besides the rear emblem and the side window tint scratches, there were
no "big" problems with this beautiful car. I have some moleskin ordered and
when that gets in and I install it I'll get the side windows re-done. Anyway, I
finally took some pics so here is my Mustang:
That white GT/CS looks awesome. Now it's got me wondering if I should try to locate a good deal on the front bumper of one of those and add onto my car. I'm thinking either that or get a chin spoiler. I'd get the center lower painted white and the connecting plastic going vertical done in white as well. Just like on the Shelby stock photos that are all over the web.
ah man, my previous post was at 600 miles now I have about 1200 on it since I stopped using a car to commute. so it still smells brand new I might as well snap some photos as I haven't modded anything yet but I did get that plenum cover I notice the package that comes with the plenum cover comes with the exhaust tips and hood scoop as well but I wanted different exhaust tips and the bare stock ones looked pretty damn nice on the lot before I took the car out for a spin. I've seen too many on the freeway with stock polished tips, kinda got old to me. Looking at cone style tips now.
