Thanks for the link. Are these probably the best heads for the money, or are there better ones?

I haven't heard a single bad thing about the Livernois heads. And the people I know that run them think they are the best thing since sliced bread.

I think a N/A car is a pretty good way to make a race car, just aslong as you build it up. But I tend to think a S/C or turbo would be best for racing. The money your gonna spend in going all N/A and nitrous, you could get a S/C and reach well over 400rwhp.

Even with an intercooler, wouldn't the SC get to hot for racing for extended periods of time? That is one of my larger concerns with an SC. For what i am thinking i will be doing everything, but it will either be SC, or Heads and Nitrous, so that would make N/A just a little cheaper.

I don't know, i guess i'm just tossing around ideas here, i might still go with a Procharger, but currently i'm just trying to figure out what would be best for my build.

Why stay with 281 cubic inches? Just go all the way to 5.4 liters and you'll hit 450 hpeasy.

Because i don't want to buy a new motor. I can hit that easily with forced induction, which is what i will do if the N/A build won't be satisfactory or if it will cost to much to get it to be what i want it to.

You will be able to hit 375rwhp with a N/A build. If you wanna do a N/A build, go ahead I think it would be nice to see, and I honeslty think getting 375rwhp out of a N/A engine is alot harder to do and I think would get alot more respect than say adding a S/C or turbo. I would love to have a 375rwhp N/A GT, but mine is pretty much for daily driving, so I dont know.

I would get the Livernois stage 3's cause they have 1mm oversize valves. (35mm) intake valve, (38.5mm) exhaust valve for the Livernois Stg. 3's vs.
stock (34mm)intake valve, (37.5mm) exhaust valve

Getting 375rwhp is not that hard n/a.......it's just hard when you're talking about bolt-ons You can easily make that power if you rebuild the engine for more displacement and higher compression. The stock 4.6 3V's compression is not very high to allow us to use 87 octane fuel.

A 5.0L stroker block with pistons set-up for 11:1 compression and those same stage II heads and cams will definitely get you to your goal of over 375rwhp.

Way more power in forced induction, you cant reach that level naturally aspirated.
What kind of racing?
Circle Track?
