Yeeeeeaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhh.. Those numbers are a little low.. I have the stage 2 + the Saleen Extreme inlet tube, and I'm making511 at the crank, assuming a modest 15% drivetrain loss. Also, that was at a .97 SAE correction factor on the dyno that day, so I ACTUALLY made ~528 crank horsepower that day.
To be honest, it's a little high for my comfort level on the stock internals, but there's not much I can do about it now. I'm planning on forging sometime in the next year or two anyway, so I'll just take it easy until then.
My Stage3 kit actually made less than exx1976's Stage 2. I'll probably have the car re-dynoed and custom tuned this spring.

Who knows, maybe my car is one of those factory beasts.. LOL
I think your 4.10's may have had something to do with it, too.. I recall reading somewhere that gear rations other than stock had adverse effects on dynos? I don't recall the specifics..
I personally would change the clutch before hand and break it in before the SC is installed. For me I had to drive for about 3 weeks breaking in the clutch before I could really stomp the gas in first or second and it sucked! You need about 1000 miles of shifting to break in the clutch. Also your stock clutch will not hold for long.
would it be wise to put on a stage 3 saleen on a stock car? had mine for about a week but
want the saleen s3 by June. I just want to get the big mod out of the way then add
little mods as I go by,may not even get a torque converter or gearing. From what I hear
too high a stall and there is no traction, gears if too short (3:90s/4:10s)are no help neither.
between a race of a paxton supercharged GT and the saleen stage 3 which would win?
both being autos and essentially stock other then the SC kits?
I know the paxton makes more power up top in the rpm and the saleen makes has
a broader powerband, but with 40-50 more whp with the paxton over the saleen.
Which would be better with the auto? want the saleen because of the low end power but may consider the paxton if it's going to put out that much more whp..plus it looks mean as hell with the blower right there by the intake lol.
Traction problems and a sore right foot, seem to be the biggest complaints. If you go with one of the kits whether it is Saleen, Whipple, or whomever, and have it installed by someone that knows what they are doing everything should be fine. You may want to ask about GT500 fuel pumps I don't know if the kit includes the pumps.
I'm considering a Saleen Supercharger in the spring and plan on making the trip to Brenspeed to get the work done. Which would be the better choice: Saleen's base 475 HP Supercharger or a Stage 1 or Stage 2 Upgrade Package?
