Like Matt said...these engines get heat soaked easily. You lose 2-3 10ths in the 1320.
Thats 2-3 car lengths and 20-30 HP. And yes...I CAN feel it.

oh yea i am finding that out for sure. i think mine is worse than normal. only after a lengthy stop mine drops off 75%. no kidding. again i could floor it and not outrun a moped. then after i get some air coming in it stops with a night and day difference. i stopped by national speed today to see about them running a dyno and setting me up with a custom tune. anyone ever used national speed. give me some feedback on them. thanks.

The dealer told me Ford is working on this problem that seems to be effecting more and more GT's.I feel is if I just got told,"live with it". I'll talk to someone higher up the chain to see if I can get an exact answer to what causesthis power loss in hot weather. It sucks sitting in traffic and then having to stick my foot out the door and push off to get the thing going. Joke!

i know what you mean. i feel like fred flinstone helping the car off the line on these hot days . the good thing is i know exactly when it will do it so i just baby it off the line. as soon as i get some $moolah i am having national speed here in wilmington dyno and tune it. they feel like my tune is not enough to cover my mods. we will see.

You were told to live with it basically because that all you can do.....heat soak is a natural occurance. Some style hoods may help by getting a little more air into the engine bay but they will not make a huge difference. Hot air and cold air both affect the air being put into the engine. If the summer it hurts power but in the fall, spring and winter....you pick up a good amount of HP. Honestly i have never had problems like described in this thread as my car still has plenty of go in the 90+ degree weather, not like when its 50 but nothign i ever complain about either.

Bottom line is hot air is hard on all vehicles in many ways, nothing is really going to help out tremendously.

i understand fully about some power loss with the hot air. mine along with a few others here and there is something else. i have noticed the few others that have complained about the severe loss all have steeda cai, sct tunes. i had scott at national speed ride with me. he was surprised when it acted up. he said somethings wrong. he thought he was going to have to get out and push me. anyhow thanks all for the input and i will let you know how it goes.

It cant be the steeda CAI IMO, maybe the tunes though. That CAI is used as part of the FRPP package and ts one of the top 4 CAIs used on the forum. Honeslty i would try a Bamachips, brenspeed or VMP tune. Tell them your problem and see if they can hook you up for free with a tune to test and see if you have the same issue. If you do have the same issue then its not the tune and something else is wrong with the car, CAI or otherwise
