Default POWER sHIFTING THE S197 NEAR IMPOSSIBLE!

I have a very hard time on the 1-2 shift. always end up hitting the rev limiter. What is the solution for this?? I have owned many mustangs and i have never had an issue power shifting. Also what is the cause of this , does anybody know?? I am very anoyed by this, what good is a car if you can not power shift the thing!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What kind of times will i post at the track by granny shifting?? If anybody can help please do. Thank you.

yup all stock.

well i did get it once or twice, but its very difficult, and it should not be that hard. I have never had such a hard time shifting a car in my life, and i have driven many. What i want to know is what is the fix for this... a shifter?? Motor mounts??

I'd suggest two things to start

MGW or Pro 5.0 shifter and CHE K-member brace with Torque limiters

should take car of most of the issue, you could do prothane motor mounts but not needed in most cases

the remote mounted shifter causes trouble when the engine is under heavy load

The last time I went to the track had a great launch, went to shift into 2nd and couldn't. And I have a Steeda triax. So IMO, a shifter isn't going to fix it. i don't power shift, to scared to. lol. But that is the first time I've ever had a 2nd gear problem.

It is because the triaxe has the springs in it to center it . I had the same issue with my steeda when I had it a few times , also had a few times I went to take off and put it in 4th, the springs they have in there do there job so you dont iss 3rd thats forsure but can be a problem on the other gears, none of the other shifters have it besdies the pro 5.0 to the rest do not have the centering spring in it.

I honestly think my check ke member with tq limiters was a better upgrade then my shifter was.

My 06 is my DD. And from what I've heard the TQ limiters add a lot of road noise. I'm already annoyed by the noises this car makes (not the good ones). So don't really want to add anymore

yes mounts and poly bushings will ahd NHV but what do you want smooth or percise???
bottom line is power shifting eats this trans and is not reccomended but i do it as i still have warranty and have 2nd and 3rd shot sincros to show for it... either way a good shifter helps alot but if you bounce off the limiter it wont help shift right and clutch after letting off the gas momentarly to try to sorta help match the revs and it should work. if your gonna mat it all run and just clutch and shift say bye bye to your syncros
