Is anybody using the Whipple monoblade thottlebody on their Whipple 2.3 blower with their 4.6? What have you seen as HP gains ? How much boost are you running? Have you had any problems with the drive by wire gearing? I am looking forwad to this mod as i turn up the boost to 16 on my forged block. thanks for your input!!

psfracer has a 2.3 at 16psi and I read he gained 37hp by just swapping the throttle body. He gained some 90hp by changing to a ST motorsports intake manifold. He doesn't post on here, but I read the post on one of the other mustang forums.
You'll definitely need one.

whipple HO SC,FRPP springs, Pypes mid mufflers, hurst, 4.10's, J&M extreme joint lca's, adj. UCA, relo bracets, 1 piece DS, spec stg 2 clutch. Accel coils 12.52@117.6mph so far with a 2.01 60 ft time(pre shaft, coils, clutch).
why would the intake manifold add that much HP? I understand its a collection box for air to sit but the air still has to be drawn through the intake and then the throttle body, any thoughts please thanks

yes the lower intake I understand goes through the fender wall for cooler air then to the intake manifold, does this manifold from psfracer out perform the stock whipple manifold with the whipple monoblade? The air still has to be pulled through the intake tube, his tube is longer than stock whipple and should have moe restrictions?

As moose stated it does and its the inherent design of the stock TB that limits the boost on the Whipple when you get past about 16psi. Upgrade the TB and the CAI. I thought he had the black diamond monoblade though with that setup..... I will check... His intake tube is wide and long and less restrictive with cooler intake temps then the stock whipple.

The air filter is located basically underneath the driver side headlight. Its high enough that its completely hidden when you look at the front of the car, yet its low enough to where its completely out of the engine compartment---where it can grab the cool air.
ALL of this is psfracer quotes and information from another forum

Helping the whipple breathe at 16psi is the custom ST Motorsports intake, a 1600 cfm black diamond throttle body, and a custom ST Motorsports sheet metal intake for the back of the supercharger.
this adds to the volume of air that the TB can move to the S/C (much cooler too)
Similar to porting and polishing heads for more flow...
