Ok, my fan was working fine last week. I went on a weekend trip and left the car at home. After coming back and leaving for school this morning, my heater fan would not come on. I turned the AC on and the fan won't come on for either the heat or the AC. Everything else works. The air changes from hot to cold, the switch works to change from vents to floor, etc and the AC compressor will come on. The only thing not working is the fan. It doesn't change from 1-4 on the settings. Other than a fuse, can this be any other problem? I was just asking before I go start diagnosing the thing. Any help would be appreciated!

It could be caused by a bad fuse(#2 fuse shown in this schematic of the fuse box in the engine compartment): http://www.allfordmustangs.com/forum...pe-air-bec.gif

Or it could be caused by a bad blower speed selector switch, blower, blower relay, ground, wire, or wire connection:

It could also be the air plenum mounted blower motor
resistor assembly..

I have a similar problem. Sometimes on long trips, I've noticed that the fan seems to crap out. I can change from 1-4 and it sounds like maybe the fan is blowing but no air is actually coming out of the vents, no matter which setting. I can't tell if the temperature is gone too but I think it fails too. Usually it's after like 5 hours in the car though but with my warranty running out next month, I guess I should have it looked at.

In my experience the whole A/C system on these cars is pretty crappy. The different directional selectors (feet, head +feet, etc.) are worthless. My head+feet blows only to the feet, the defroster only blows into the cabin as well, etc. My fan itself has never had problems. I would check the fuse and if it still isn't fixed bring it in.

Got it fixed. It was just a fuse. Thanks though!

It can be the cause in some cases, but not with the OP's fan. The reason is because the OP stated that the fan did not work in any of the speed settings(1-4), and the current does not pass thru the blower motor resistor assembly to the fan motor in the highest speed setting(4) according to the electrical schematic.

Short time to post and get all that info in there in time.
I get the schematic layout of the S197 stang and that
HIGH (that bypasses the speed resistor) should still
work when the resistor assembly is bad. I have helped
with many blower problems and it tends to be the connector
on the fan switch itself that cannot handle the fan/resistor
currents without overheating and loosing all connections.

I have a problem with ac as well it was working fine the other day and now I have no power at all to any functions to my ac I checked and test the rely and that works. This suxs every function on the ac unit does not work not even a clicking noise or anything. I have no idea.
