I just spoke with my service advisor at the dealership and this is all new to him.
He said there was no recalls, and hadn't heard of any TSBs related to the plugs on Mustangs, he said the F150s had problems, but that we should be fine with OEM.
Great, now I'm worried....
The techs there will know what you're talking about. The front desk people can be retarded sometimes. It also helps if there is some kind of modular V8 enthusiast in the shop. The one peice spark plugs were just released by ford and i dont think they will be available until the supply of the old 2 peice ones dries up. There is a listing for them. The techs usually know whats going on before the counter people do. The easiest way to take them out is to get your engine a "bit" warm to soften the carbon then do the tsb(a couple small squirts of motorcraft penetrating fluid down the holes).

New one piece plug from Ford? Motorcraft or Autolite?
Not really... its easier to get the broken parts out on a mustang than it is an f-150. I've broken a few in f-150's, usually all on cylinder 4 and 8 i have yet to break one in a mustang.
Spray the plugs with PB blaster and let them soak for at least 45 min. Then take them out slowly. Using this method, we haven't had one plug break. It does help with a warm engine as well.
Hope this helps

How much does the dealership charge to replace the plugs? If I started to pull the plugs and broke one off in my wife's '07. Which then required me to have it towed to a repair shop.......I'd never hear the end of it.
Dude if it's an 07 just get the krano aerokroil and follow the TSB yourself. You shouldn't have any problems if you're careful. I have an 06 with 11,000 miles when I pulled the plugs. Came out easy and we didn't even use any aerokroil.
If something happened there is a tool you can use that will get the broken off piece out of the head. Things have to go very, very wrong for that to not work.
I never swapped my plugs. There's 35k on my block with the original plugs, and I don't plan on going F.I. and I haven't had any issues. Should I worry about them?
