Default Amsoil feedback requested

I just ordered a case of 0-30W Amsoil w/ filter for my 08' Mustang GT. I went ahead with the purchase after a friend of mine (who I trust) told me it is the best oil I can get for my GT. I was just wondering if others on this site have used their products and what their experiences have been. My friend said that I would definitely notice a difference what is your opinion?

I used AMSOil exclusively for the first 90,000 in my GT. You will not "notice" any difference between it and the plain label oil sold at 7-11, by that I mean you are not going to get 5 more MPG or 10 more HP by using it, but you will, in my opinion get better protection. I used AMSOil for its extended protection (I drive over 120 miles a day so I would be changing oil nearly every month if I changed it at 5000 mile intervals) and changed oil and AMSOil filter every 12K to 15K miles. Now I know a lot of folks here are going to go into "you have to change it every 3000 miles or else" stories, but I had the oil analyzed after changing oil and the analysis showed no excessive wear.

Use it with confidence. It's probably the best "boutique" oil you can put in the car.

I began using Amsoil 0W20 with the Amsoil Ea filter in my GT at about 2,000 miles and have 28,000 on it now. When it's not garaged for the winter, I typically put 2-4,000 miles on per month (and it's NOT my DD). I use Mobil1 in my SUV and also put over 2,000 miles per month on it. I change my oil at 8-10,000 mile intervals in both vehicles and have for years on others with over 200,000 miles on them. I've also had many cars go over 200,000 miles on dino oil at 3,000 mile change frequencies. Don't think you're getting any better protection between dino, blend and full synthetic. The only thing the blend and full syn buys you over dino is time. If you're using full synthetic and changing it before 8,000 miles you may as well save a few bucks and switch to a blend.

The Amsoil ASM oils are 15,000 mile oils under severe conditions (our engines are characterized as race engines) and the Ea filters are rated for 25,000 miles if I recall. I'd begin testing my oil beyond 10,000 miles if I wanted to go beyond my current oil change frequency

I switched to AMSOIL after using (and being satisfied with) Mobil 1 for many years. I just became convinced AMSOIL was the very best. I use 0W20 along with their Ea filter. I am doing the 10K mile change.

I just went on their website and ordered it online. I looked for a dealer close but didn't see one. I'll post again when it arrives so you know how long it took them to get it to me with standard freight. I'm in the burbs of Chicago and it's coming from Detroit.

If you don't have a loacal Amsoil associate to order from, mail order deliveries from them takes about 2-3 business days.

I've been using for the last 16 years. Wont even bother considering the use of another brand myself.
One vehicle I had, I tested their mileage claims with. A 99 Mitsu Montero. Over a 5000mi period, with an oil change at 2500mi, my mileage was 1.3mpg better on the second half using Amsoil. That was approx a 5% increase. I changed, not only the engine oil, but the transmission and rear axle all at the same time. That was the result of it. It is mostly attributable to the rear axle fluid change though. I even used the same pump at the same station to help eliminate as many variables as I could.
