Throttle Body Swap

Throttle Body Swap
I have a 2007 Mustang GT with the 4.6L and i have done a ton of mods to it including a Paxton supercharger dropped the rear end to 4:10's with a solid 900 horse rated drive shaft. This car is insane to say the least for a street machine(550Hp 510 torque at nine pounds of boost.). My question is i am looking to install a Ford racing GT500 throttle body and i wanted to hear what you guys think about the ups and downs to them.

finally someone that wants a TB that has the qualifications for one!!! most people on here want them and dont need them. well some people on here have had a lot of trouble with getting them to work properly. i dont know what the specifics are but a lot of people have turned them into paper weights.

From everything I've seen the BBK ones have problems. I haven't seen anyone with problems with the actual GT500 one. My friend has had one on his GT for about a year without any tuning for it and no problems at all.
The other alternative is a ported TB from Techco. They just port the stock GT ones so there won't be any problems.

I would look into an Accufab, Black Diamond or other monoblade throttle bodies before a GT500 TB. The GT500 TB doesn't flow too much more than the GT TB. The GT TB flows like 870 CFM. I think the GT500 is around 1150 CFM.
Monoblades flow 1450 CFM or 1900 CFM depending on which one you get. I have a Kenne Bell Stage II and it is 1450 CFM (Accufab)

bigger cfm rates are fine and all but no one seems to be mentioning the fact that at your power levels - you are not getting any restriction right now from the stock TB...lol
There is no need to upgrade to a larger TB until you introduce restrictions that call for it - otherwise it's a waste of time.
For your set-up, the stocker is fine. If you push the boost up - then you will need more flow. In that case, I'd look into the the new cobrajet TB from FRPP.
