2005 GT - Stall and Shaky engine..
Hey all, I'm new around here. I picked up a '05 Mustang GT not too long ago to keep my '06 GTO company. I do enjoy both rides very much . So to the point... Tonight I take the GT out and twice, back to back, while reversing she stalls out. Let me say so its totally clear that it was not a drive error. I've been driving manuals before I had a license, and it certainly was no footing problem on the clutch. Also, after the second attempt to reverse, the engine was idling a bit shaky. The car is running fine now but I suspected there may be a problem that is fueling related, also could have just been a fluke. Anyways, I wanted to see what the GT experts thought. The car only has 35K miles, and is clean as can be.
Thanks!!

Right off the bat I'll say replace the fuel filter. These S197's will act up to quite a few things and that's probably the cheapest thing to start with and should be done about every 25,000 - 30,000 miles anyway. Hopefully that will be it or perhaps while backing you got a slug of water for a second.
And welcome to the forum!

If you still have the factory air filter you may want to check that as well, If it is really dirty it can cause the engine to bog down at low rpms and stall. But at higher rmp's wouldn't be as noticable.

clean out the throttle body, the mass airflow sensor, your air filter, and that will do the trick.
The 2005's seem to be running a little rich. I noticed it once i switched over to synthetic oil. Or I might have an O2 sensor going out. Whatever it was, it was fixed with cleaning all three of these out.
good luck
