Wats up guys, ok so this guy i know just bought an '08 GT/CS. He said that it is running 365 hp and all it has is a CAI, custom throttle body and forged heads. Well first, although this sound stupid, what are forged heads? lol...and how does the CS engine put out so much more hp than the GT when there are only a few mods (and do these mods come stock on the CS)?

I'm sure it's BS. If he has a CAI then he pretty much needs a tune, the combo is good for 30hp max. A throttle body doesn't do much on a stock motor, a few hp at best. Forged heads, maybe he was trying to BS about ported and polished heads or a forged bottom end and screwed it up. 365hp, not at the rear wheels, even if he had cracked open the engine. I think of the person on here w/ the most N/A work would probably be Eagle w/ his stroker kit and I don't think he is making that much to the wheels, I could be wrong though. Maybe he got all his car knowledge from this guy.

A stock California Special engine is no different than any other GT motor.
You could always ask for the dyno sheet. Either he's been on a dyno or he's full of it.

Perhaps he meant 265. Stock with a non-tuned CAI would be in that range. Take him on. If he's anywhere near 365 he'll bust you up assuming you're stock.

No one is ever going to specifically mention a tune it's just not said.
Now if you picked up the idea that he has a "custom throttle body" that means some one had to have ported it because that's the only way to customize a throttle body that I know of and when that was happening usually it's normal to do heads as part of a general port polish job.
However 365 hp is a huge overestimate even with a dyno tune and good intake like a C&L racer on what might be a port and polish. He has 345 hp at the max if he even has any mods on that car. Also porting jobs on N/A cars don't develop near the torque gain compared to the hp gain so a car with gears and an intake will be able to take his.

Tip of the Month, October: Do not buy the $730 Roush Exhaust which a Mangnaflow rep says costs to $117 make (polished, all ss), buy the $170 Roush Exhaust Tips estimated to cost $46 to make and weld them to another company's muffler. This also lets you choose how your car sounds.

lol at the video but eaglestroker's setup is a N/A fully built, stroked, and full bolt on motor with no power adder good for around 410-430 RWHP its all in the tune and the choice of fuel but I have had some interesting conversations with him... BTW OP, that guy totally b.s.'ed you, he might be doing 365 crank HP and even that would be a stretch from reality
