Default Injen CAI

The Injen CAI looks pretty nice, better than others I have seen. Two questions about this one can you still get a tune and have it work with this CAI? Looks like it is made to work only without a tune from the articles I have seen. If it does work with a tune what would you have to do to the CAI intake to make it work?

Plus I really like the new ford CAI sheild, I'm wondering if it would fit this CAI.
I don't like the black rubber tubing on the bullet intake.

Thanks

get a larger intake such as steeda or C&L they require you to get a tuner. you'll be able to get more out of one of these than the smaller ones

I'm not familiar with the Injen CAI but if it doesn't require a tune, I wouldn't waste my money. Check with Bama or Brenspeed and see what they think but in my opinion, you'll be sorry if you get it. A non-tunable CAI may net you about 5-8 RWHP, if that, and typically won't yield gains, once tuned, as those from the more popular tune-required CAI's.

Like the look of the Injen, probably will go with another.
Plan on getting a tune or just skipping the stuff in the middle and getting a Vortech 3 without cooler.

For aesthetics, I'd go with the C&L street, but any tune-required CAI is a good bet. Non-tune CAIs are usually pretty choked.

Why would you want to? Read the thread and do a search and you'll find that your performance gains are extremely limited with a non-tune required CAI. Even with a tune, they can't pass a sufficient air volume to compare to tune-required CAI's.

ANY of the CAI's that don't require a tune MIGHT net you 5-8 RWHP (despite the manufacturers claims) plus, if you DO decide to get a tune afterwards, a non-tuneable CAI won't give you the gains with the tune that a CAI that requires a tune will give you. A CAI & tune combo will net you 15-25 or more. Everyone here will tell you to do it right and get the combo.

Additionally, some of the no-tune-required CAI's have been known to still throw a code (typically for running lean).
