Default JBA shorty header.. gaskets needed?

I just got my JBA header set, came with bolts but no gaskets (?)

Do I need to order a set from Brenspeed or can the stockers be reused?

No gasket needed. The factory gasket is made of metal, so unless it is damaged when you remove the exhaust manifolds, you do no tneed to replace them.

cool, thanks.
I was curious because I know brenspeed carries header gaskets.

The high heat coating is strange.. it's dark dark gray.

Read the installation instructions in the box. You need to go to your auto parts store and buy high temp gasket to put around your stock metal gaskets just to ensure a good seal. I used copper paste which was like 7 bucks at advance. Using the copper gasket maker also allows you to apply some to the metal gasket to make it stick to the head or the header when installing the new headers so that it doesnt keep sliding out and falling down.

I reused the metal gasket. It's been fine. No leaks.
