Talking How to reach 550 hp

I have a -06 GT that will receive a little makeover in the form of 550 hp (engine). Question is what is the BEST way of getting there? This is my daily drive, but I wouldn't be surprised if I were to take it to the race track once in a while after the makeover, hehe..

Do I go with Turbo or Supercharger? I have heard and read a lot of good things about Kenne Bell... What is needed as far as tires and suspension goes? And what about engine internals? My main thing is straightline acceleration and being able to take down GMs and Mopars at the lights and on the freeway.

How much is this going to cost? Guesstimates? I will have professionals do the work.

Here is my breakdown so far to get to ~500BHP.:
Tires/Wheels: $1400
Edelbrock EForce/Tune/Installed: ~$7500
Suspension/Brakes:~$1530
Gauges/pod: ~289

So $10700 with no internals touched. Yo might get under that with a different SC and the tune that comes with it but I have read that a stock engine will need internals to run that high. I threw in tires and such since you mentioned racing althoug it is not necessary for your 550 goal.

I'm looking at the Kenne Bell stage 2, it's $6300 and puts you at 522whp on 9psi. that's with a 100% bone stock engine except for swapping in an electric water pump and stock exhaust. they say the pump is about 20whp. their kits are great and come with a tune and everything. all you need to buy is some fluids.

your goal of 550hp crank is roughly 468whp (550-15% drivetrain loss). the Kenne Bell puts you over your goal by a little bit 520whp is about 600 crank hp (adding 15% to 520).

I personally like the Kenne Bell and my buddy had a kit on his 04 for over 20,000 miles before he sold the car and he didn't have any problems. a lot of guys on here are happy with their whipple kits so that's another option. if you went with the KB stage one it's $5800 and gives you 501whp on 8.5psi.

Correct. I think he specified 550hp at the engine in his original post. If he wants 550 to the rear wheels he needs to spend megabucks.
