Default Steeda delete plates...which ones?

I'm looking at the delete plates from steeda. They offer two types, billet and economy. However they both claim to increase about 10hp. Is there a difference between the two that make it worth it to spend the extra money for the billet ones?

Get the economy ones. Don't waste your money like I did on the billet ones. Both perform the same function, which is eliminating those flimsy valves out of the air path.

The only scenario I see where the billet ones would be useful would be if you're installing nitrous and get the CMCV with the N2o ports pre-drilled unto them.

Don't forget to update the tuning.

OR, you can be even cheaper by just having your tuner adjust the valves to where they are always open. Still have the valves in the way, but at least you get rid of the annoying delay.

Thanks guys. Man it's great to save money. Can't tell you how many times I spent more because I "assumed" it was better.

That doesn't sound safe at all.

Are you running that way with that Paxton kit? Better hope those valves don't catch some of that supercharged side wind and break off into the engine.

Was also wondering about the tune. I want to get a dyno tune, and a place a few miles from me will do it. Do you think I could drive my car to the place staying with my current tune? Or do I need to contact doug for an update to drive my car about 4 miles?

isn't it true that the 2009 has built in non removable CMCV? that you need to buy smooth shafts that replace the butterflies. think i saw them for $80 somewhere.

The economy ones are good enough, and its best to get a retune for the plates however if you're just going to put them on and go straight to the dyno it's not needed but you will get a CEL.

For your info, 2009-2010 can use Steeda Part # 555-3148 "Charge Motion Delete Plugs"
for about $59.95 and takes same 3 hours labor to install..
