Default P0451 code

I installed boom tubes on my car last week, and have only driven it a few times since them, and now I am getting a P0451 code.

I have had a Steeda CAI from Brenspeed w/tune on since July with no problems.

Wed last week I installed exhaust. Drove it once or twice before Sunday

Sunday we loosened the clamps in the center of the exhaust and centered the tips, per Taco Bills write up. Didn't drive any on Sunday

Got gas yesterday and drove around for 30 minutes enjoying the exhaust.

Drove 35 miles to work today, no issue.

Got in car to drive home from work, and check engine light was on with P0451 code.

Is this a gas cap issue? or is there something else wrong.

I am a novice, and have done all my mods my self. This install was pretty easy, so I'm hoping it is just the gas cap.

I have reset the codes and tightened the cap. But I haven't had a chance to drive it yet.

Seeing as you drove it just over 60 miles, I would be willing to bet it's the gas cap code. Unfortunately I can't remember the thread with ECU codes..but will look. Normally the gas cap issue takes 40-60 miles to present itself as the emissions system resets just so often.

Bam!

P0451 Evaporative Emission System Pressure Sensor/Switch Range/Performance

That's from the V6 forum, but I imagine they carry over.

Reset, tighten cap, both of which you already did, and keep motoring!!

Thanks for the reply. I knew I couldn't screw up putting on the axle backs. But then apparently, I couldn't screw on a gas cap.

I had found another link on here from russje that said he put on axle backs and it melted a hose. I checked mine, and I am no where near the hose.

I'll drive it tomorrow and see if it comes back.
