I like the JBA shorties for a few reasons...

1. I noticed more power down low in the RPM band (butt dyno).

2. Sounds great; even with the stock catted h-pipe. Exhaust pulses are smoothed out and WOT screams!

3. Looks 100% better under the hood than with the rusty stock exhaust manifolds.

Definitely worth the price IMO and you stay legal. You also won't throw a code with shorties as you sometimes get with long tubes.

Mine are working good with my SC, I get pretty good low end torque with them at 2700rpm, start of the dyno run I'm seeing 375ft/lbs, and yes the look much better!

You can see them peeking out in this pic.

We have installed and dyno'd dozens of these. The ceramic finished shorties do only make about 3 to 5 wheel at most. In a few cases, we have seen 0 gain. if you ever plan on a blower you will see a few more. try to put on a set of the Prothane motor mounts at the same time since the mounts have to come out anyway. Free labor and most places have these for less than $150 now. Great upgrade over the mushy (Leaking) factory hydra-mounts.

However the new Magna Flow "metallic cat" high flow x-pipe has made a consistant 20+ if you can believe that!

Let me know if you need any advise or pricing on anything. eric@impulsecars.com

Is that the 3 piece version over the older one piece?

I considered the JBA shorties but went with BBK for a couple reasons, one was that they are cheaper, and the second was that they came with all the hardware and gaskets needed. IIRC JBA doesn't include gaskets. They will be on today (hopefully) so I will make a thread once I'm done.

BTW, you can re-use your stock exhaust gasket if it's not damaged.

My Kooks came with one so I used it, but it was not necessary.

get them ceramic coated so they stay looking good over the years that you'll have the car.
+1 you can reuse the stock jaskets and use jasket sealer, if you do it yourself, to seal the bad boy up

your def going to notice the difference in sound and performance.

check out my vid

+1 get the MM becuase you may have clearnce issue with the headers and the steering shaft. i did and it sucked so just get them lol they are worth it for the better shifts and for being able to make up for the lost power in the drivetrain from the stock mounts
