That's exactly what happened to me when I first got "tuned." This situation sucks b/c there's no way to get the real strategy until you get your tuner, but to get the tuner you need to provide info so they can make your tunes which will end up not working. The only way is if you happened to already have a device for reading codes and such that will give you the strategy. But most do not have that.
