Default Please Help - Car Won't Start - Steeda CAI / SCT

So I just installed a Steeda CAI from Brenspeed with the 87/89/91 tunes. I loaded up the 87 tune, tried to crank it - won't start. Scanned for DTC's, got P2107 (Throttle actuator processor module).

Please help!! I went back to stock, and reloaded the tune, and it still didn't work. Tried to crank, no start.

Does the stratagy code match?
Numbers on the PCM match as well?
Will it restart and run with the
stock tune reloaded and back to
OEM?

Not sure what a strategy code is!

I put it back to stock tune, with the Steeda still on, and it started right up like normal. Of course it ran like crap with the huge MAF on, but at least that confirms my PCM is ok.

You'll probably need to have Brenspeed update the tunes. Call them.Chit happens...

Call your vendor to assertain as to why the 'tunes'
they sold you wont work with your stang.
How did you come across this Steeda CAI and associated tuner?
Not worried about a 'bad' PCM, just if you got all the sensors
plugged back in properly.
Did you remove the negative battery cable for this 'mod'?

I got it from Brenspeed. They're either closed right now or busy, not sure, I left a voicemail.

I removed the negative terminal for 5 minutes in the hopes it would cure the problem - no dice.

I actually came across a handy FAQ on Bamachip's website, and figured out what the strategy stuff is all about. It seems that if the strategy Brenspeed chose for my car is not the same as the one that Ford actually has in the PCM, that the exact issue I'm having will result. Bama states that sometimes when reflashing the PCM the Ford techs don't put a new code sticker on the PCM, so this is where the problem comes from.

Looks like it's back to puttering around in the '00 GT until I hear back from Brenspeed

Coulda guessed that one.
Its in the Mustang Forums "read this before posting CAI/TUNER posts" FAQ.
Happens all the time.
Ford stealerships never relabels the proper # on the
PCM after a PCM reflash. If you dont take it to the stealership, they cant
reflash it. Never heard of the stealership coming toones home in the middle
of the night and reflashing their S197s PCM.

Have them reflash the PCM with your 'tune' in it and there goes
your tuners 'tune' and the tuner wont recognise your S197s PCM now.
MustangForum Tuner FAQ list. Good reading.....

Thumbs up

Just an update. Got my tunes tonight from Dave at Brenspeed, and wow, these things are amazing. Just finished a 2 hour cruise and wooooow.

I sent my email Sunday night, got a call from Dave at 9:30am EST on Monday, and had my tunes in hand at about 5:00pm EST tonight, reprogrammed for my PCM. Amazing customer service, super fast turn around time, AND, they threw in a free tune! I bought it with 87, 89, and 93. Dave sent them back with 87, 89, 91, and 93!

Huge thumbs up!!
