Default aluminum driveshaft question

so this might be a dumb question, but i was looking at a local shop to have a driveshaft made for me. They asked if i wanted it with the trans yoke or if i already have one? I could just use hte stock yoke correct?

I had a friend take his 2 piece boat anchor off and took it to a custom DS shop. They made a really nice one piece out of it using both ends. It performs well and has no vibration.

This is something that interests me, but I am afraid of increasing NVH in the car. I had an 89 mustang with aluminum drive shaft and had no issues. I imagine removing 45 lbs of rotational weight will show up on the SotP dyno.

You remove the 45 Lb drive shaft, but you replace it with 17 pounds. So the savings are more like 28 pounds.

Also that annoying back lash clank is mostly gone. Its a good mod if done right. Get one from a reputable shop with a proven design.

Whats wrong with buying a pre-made driveshaft? like Steeda or Spydershaft... or shaftmasters

Unless you're getting a significantly lower price, I agree with the poster above. Brands like Spydershaft are proven products.
