what's the plan for the tranny, is it
coming out attached to the old engine,
or staying put on a tranny jack.

Tranny is staying in the car. What's left of the motor comes out. Oil pan and pickup go on new motor along with filling the pump with oil. Clutch, flywheel come off. New motor goes on the hoist and off the stand. Oil slinger, pilot bearing, flywheel, etc go on and in the car it goes. Then I get to put everything back on like ac, ps, supercharger, etc. This is really shaping up to be alot of processes. My biggest concern at the moment is getting the headers to clear the steering shaft on the way in.

yes but i can see you've planned this whole
project out very well.

hopefully the steering shaft won't cause you
any grief.

If you haven't already, I would plan on getting some different mounts to maybe shift how the motor sits in the bay or prevent torque from moving the motor into the frame rail or steering shaft.

Just something to think about. . .

I have heard but am not sure if the attachment bolts (I call them head studs) for our cars can be used more than one time. When I had my motor built, I had the heads studded with ARP stuff so that if the heads needed to come off or I decided to have them ported etc. I wouldn't be out the cost of another set of fasteners and they are stronger than the OEM pieces, along with little to no stretch. Atleast that''s what I was told by ARP and the builder.

You don't think the prothanes will be enough?

I used new TTY bolts. I considered arp studs but after researching why Ford uses torque to yield fasteners I decided to use them. Also the price was $60 for enough to do both heads. Arp hardware would of cost near $400. I'm not going for real big power and boost, hope I made the right decision.

Got to start working on the car again today after work. Pulled the block and transerred everything but the flywheel and clutch. Primed the oil pump and pickup tube. 6 quarts of regular 5-20 castrol in it now.

The plan is to get the motor in the car tomorrow and have everything but the supercharger on before I quit. Anything else will be a bonus.

A few pics from this afternoon and tonight:
