If I were to go with a 550 hp Supercharger would the first thing I need to do is upgrade the clutch?
thanks

No, the rotating assembly. 550 rwhp would eventually grenade the stock motor.

Then the clutch, brakes, suspension, tires, etc...

which charger are you talking about... The 550hp whipple charger doesn't do 550rwhp it does 550hp crank and I think most people are dynoing around 450-480 rwhp... If you do any do the whipple its all an inclusive kit and can be easily upgraded. I will be doing the 400hp roush supercharger but thats because I will be very happy with a 400hp car... running high 12's...

The OP is probably referring to the FRPP unit which is 550 at the flywheel and can safely be installed on a stock block.

thats still a huge jump over stock, i just dont see that being "safe" on a stock car.

I've always heard anything over 450 to the wheels and you may be looking at trouble, weak bottom ends, etc.....but this isn't from experience, just what others have said on here.

The 427R Roush comes with the supercharger. The above 427 motor is not in the 427R model line.
http://www.roushperformance.com/perf...010/427r.shtml

"

The ROUSH 2010 427R™ Mustang will be the first in the lineup of new ROUSH® 2010 Mustangs to have a ROUSHcharger® installed which boosts the horsepower to 435 and offers 400 lb.-ft. of torque. This is the first time that ROUSH has been able to offer a supercharged vehicle at the launch of a new body style."

** Edit
Sorry there is of course the 427R motor as originally posted I just thought for most people think of the 427R Roush model does not come with that motor
