ha! when this is over i am through playing with
my engine. i really hope this is a one time deal.
I know that feeling. I would be willing to wager that within a month of completing this project you will be examining head porting, cam profiles, and springs that allow more valve lift. What do you want to put on it?
I really doubt you will be satisified with 12psi, you will prob be slower than where you were at with the stock motor and 10psi. With that low compression, you will have some room to play and still be able to run pump gas.
He should be the same or more. A built engine can withstand a little more timing than a stocker.
just a gentleman's bet, cause seriouly i don't
plan on going for big power anytime soon. i might
put a 12psi pulley on this summer, but that will be it for
awhile.
Maybe for insurance against catastrophic failure. Plenty of build motors have blown while pushing the edge.
yes I know, but a built motor up to 17-18 psi on pump, if built properly is a non-issue IMHO. If you're running 12 might as well stay on the stock block, heck and some race fuel and kick up your timing for the track and your deep 11s easy. my .02
If I keep my car and do a built build 18psi on pump 24/7/365 and 20+ on race!
