Spark Plug Torque specs, install
After 1 year, through recommendation, I am replacing my spark plugs. I currently have Ford Racing M-12405-3V12MM. Now I am installing NGK ZNAR7AIX (7554) because my search has me to believe they are the same plug, one heat range colder than stock and gapped to .030.
Can someone help verify this and also tell me what Torque spec is for this spark plug? Also do I need to use anti-seize on the plug threads and silicone on the boots? Also anything else I may need to know?
Have an 08 with 12mm thread. Edelbrock e-force pushing 11lbs of boost.

No you do NOT use anti-seize on the threads. That is a baddy. It will interfere with your use of a torque wrench.
The stock plugs have a 25 ft. lb. rating. I suggest using that same value with the new ones.
It wouldn't hurt to put a thin coat of anti-seize on the electrode ground shield of any plug you use on the 05-08 cars with the old heads. Don't go hog wild with it. Just get it on the ground shield and that's IT.

That spec seems more realistic for the size threads. I have been searching for the specs all over the internet without any luck. You are the first one to give me that spec. Where did you find that info? I appreciate the specs the other guys gave but I have a feeling it was for pre 08 1/2 with different heads and 16mm thread
You're right the older 2peice plugs are 25 lbft

Here ya go; direct from the Ford Service Manual. Inch pounds can be converted to foot pounds by dividing by 12. OP, you are correct regarding the FRPP and NGK plugs, they are identical.

Goose5, bingo2, awesome information! Thank you! I'm thinking there are people out there torquing their 08 1/2+ at 25 ft/lbs going on the 05+ specs when they are different. Maybe this can cause plug failure for these people. That's a huge difference in torque. Does anyone agree?

I would make the gap a little larger at .034 or so. Seems I get idling issues with the smaller gap. I also use the anti sieze on the plugs. I have never had one stick or come loose. I pull my plugs fairly regularly (after each race) and haven't had an issue ever.
