Default scheduled maintenance

I own a 2010 Gt and am coming up on 5,000 miles. The manual that came with my car indicates that the frist scheduled maintenance occurs as 7500 miles. I know I drive my car kind of hard (alot harder than my wifes Volvo XC-90 anyways) and therefore think the car could benefit from a oil change/service right now.

My only mods are a JLT CAI, Bama Tune and Flowmaster Axel Backs.

Any advise? Thanks in advance.

If you're rough on the engine, then I'd change the oil now. 5k of hard driving on synthetic blend is fine. If you drove a lot of easy miles, then the 7000-7500 miles service would be fine. If you're not getting free oil changes, do it yourself. It's just too easy, saves money and gets you more acquainted with your car. Other than that, just drive it.

Yeah I would go ahead and change that. Too late for you now, but I changed mine almost as soon as I got it since the oil in the motor off the lot had been in there since it left the factory.

Maybe I am old school, but I still stick to the 3k/3 month schedule.

I follow the 3k rule too.

+1. Even the synthetic blends can go 5K easily. With Dino oil, yea go ahead and stick with 3K. I personally do the Motorcraft 5W20 @ 5 -6K. Anything else is wasting money.....just my opinion

I got the OEM dino oil blend oil out after 500 miles of break in.
Mobil 1 Synthetic or Castrol GTX and a WIX (not a flim flam Fram) filter.
I change mine at 3K but it gets micro filtered and then ran another 3K in the Challenger...
MicroFiltering under high pressures FTW.

I use Motorcraft 5W-20.
Just as the manual says.

Maybe I do change it early but my oil is always clean as a whistle and
both me and my engine like it that way ;P

Sounds like a good time to go ahead and change your oil. 5-6k is fine for 5w20 synthetic blend in my opinion, I do 8k with Amsoil 0w20 full synthetic and Mobil1 filter.

Second suggestion, pay no attention to that scheduled maintanence junk. It's a scam to get you back in the dealership at the shortest amount of time spending the most amount of money.
